Jonah Hill Makes Mellow Style Look Good

It is one thing to dress well IRL, and it is another to dress well on the internet. Jonah Hill is a great dresser in real life. This much we know to be true. But he also belongs in the pantheon of Instagram fit pic greats. The guy loves getting dressed, and he loves to share the evidence with his fans.

Hill posted one of many such gleeful mirror selfies on Friday, this time sporting a set of nubby cashmere-blend separates from The Row, the luxury clothing brand designed by Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen known for its lavishly understated (and just lavishly lavish) pieces. While real heads may have been able to ID the brand of the logo-less set—comprising the walnut brown “Lukrecio” shirt and a pair of matching pants curiously named the “Jonah”—Hill made it clear by tagging @therow in his caption, followed by a red-faced ???? emoji. Talk about an absolute outfit heater, in more ways than one.

The Row has long thrived on the whisper network of its incredibly well-heeled clientele, as evidenced by its curious Instagram presence; while other labels’ feeds are often filled with photos of celebrity-studded ad campaigns and red carpet appearances, The Row’s mostly contains images of modern art interspersed with still lives of the brand’s accessories—and, occasionally, a model wearing its clothes. But in our Instagram-driven economy, ambassador-less brands can only go so far: a handful of celebs have sported (and tagged) the brand as of late, from Kendall Jenner in “The Row head to toe” to Hill himself posing alongside actress Zoë Kravitz in their own Row looks, though their endorsements appear to be organic, if conspicuous. (There was also, back in November, what was likely just the spontaneous infatuation of one Michael Rapaport.) And Hill’s luxury loungewear is, perhaps surprisingly, kid tested, mother approved: “Stunning comfy can’t wait,” Jonah’s mom, Sharon Feldstein, commented on his post, perhaps indicating that we’ve got more to come than just IG fit pics from Jonah and the brand. Could mean something, or nothing at all.

Hill’s proven himself to be a style shapeshifter, oscillating between blissed-out tie-dye tees and head-turning suits with ease, and what makes his fit pics great is not merely the quality of his clothes (though, to be sure, these are of the utmost) but also the enthusiasm with which he wears them. Hill digs clothes, and it shows. Plus, whatever he wears, he makes it look easy—which, in some ways, is sort of what The Row is all about.
